The festival of lights is one that all students are familiar with and enjoy celebrating. They make chanukias (menorahs) as arts and crafts, make latkes and chanukah chocolate and enjoy a fun-filled chanukah party. They learn how this festival represents the miracle God performed of making the one flask of oil which was only enough to burn for one night burn for  eight nights. That is why we have eight candles with the ninth candle as the server candle.

This festival also commemorates the Maccabbees incredible victory over the Hellenists and how they took control again of the temple and rededicated it to God.
